2022 MAC Summer Camps

Astronomy Camp
Stars! Black Holes! Galaxies! Oh my! MAC's Astronomy Camp will dive into all of these topics and more. Led by Maddie B, a TCU'21 graduate with a degree in Astronomy and Physics, this academic summer camp will broaden your student's horizons to infinity and beyond! This week-long camp is perfect for rising astronomers. Math Around The Corner's Fort Worth Astronomy Camp is open to students in or entering grades K-4, 5-8, and 9-12.

Architecture Camp
Iggy Peck, the Architect, helps student research the realm of architecture around the world. Join us for a week full of building bridges out of pasta, Frank Lloyd Wright's stain glass window art, logic line up puzzles based on architecture tools, and more! MAC's Architecture Camp is open to students in or entering 2nd and 3rd grade.

Become a Botanist
Do you have a little botanist on your hands? Then this academic summer camp is for your student! In this week-long camp, students will study the art of plant science and build a community garden. Your student will cultivate their teamwork skills, their green thumb, and more! MAC's Become a Botanist camp is open to students in or entering 2nd and 3rd grade.

Fraction Camp
Students will dive into the world of fractions! Fraction basics, operations with fractions, and real-world applications of fractions at work will guide our fun as we explore all the ways that fractions organize our lives. MAC's Fraction Camp is open to students in or entering 4th, 5th, and 6th grade who live in the greater Fort Worth and Dallas metropolitan area.

Mars One Journey
Mars One project was a real experiment that we can learn from today. Students will buy a one way ticket to Mars to establish a sustainable colony. We will use the engineering design process to plan, develop, evaluate and redesign a 3D prototype that will be a part of our Mars colony! MAC's week-long Mars One Journey camp is open to students in or entering 3rd and 4th grade.

Math Operations Camp
Add, subtract, multiply, and divide your way through the week! Students will grow their math operations skills by playing fun math games, solving puzzles, and more. Operations Camp will help your student keep their math skills sharp over summer break. Math Operations Camp is open to students in or entering 1st-5th grade.

Reader's Theater
Calling all young readers and performers! MAC's Reader's Theater camp for kids is a fun way for students in grades 1-5 to build fluency and confidence in their reading skills. Students will read and create scripts, make costumes, and act out their theater piece. At the end of this week-long camp, students will perform their script for family and friends.

Getting the Dirt on Soil: A Worm's-Eye View
Students will discover the properties and importance of dirt through the eyes of a worm! This is a fun and creative week-long academic summer camp for kids using art, literature, and science experiments to delve into dirt. MAC's Worm's-Eye View camp is open to students in or entering 1st grade.

BOOTCAMPS

College Bootcamp
Is your student a high school senior leaving for college in the fall? Are you looking for a way to ease their transition between high school and college? Then this academic summer camp is for your student! Topics covered include, but are not limited to: study skills, time management, taking ownership of academics, and finding support resources, both academic and otherwise. Plus, students will start a resume they can add to throughout their college career. Students will meet for 1.5 hours per day for a week.

College Bootcamp will be offered July 18th-22nd and August 1st-5th in Fort Worth, TX.

High School Bootcamp
Feelings about the transition from middle school to high school can range from excitement to apprehension. Like all periods of change and gained independence; this pivotal time comes with growing pains. This bootcamp will prepare students for a smooth transition to high school. Topics covered will include study skills, time management, conflict resolution, and taking ownership of academics. Students will meet for 1.5 hours per day for a week.

High School Bootcamp will be offered July 18th-22nd and August 8th-12th.

SAT/ACT Bootcamps
MAC will continue to offer college prep bootcamps for the duration of the summer. Bootcamps consist of 6 sessions leading up to the SAT/ACT. Meeting dates and times will be tailored to your student's schedule.
